Call Me High

I adore high-waisted bikini's, I find them so flattering (and personally really good for hiding bits that I really want to hide). This is always my staple bikini shape, a few of mine from last summer are from ASOS, H&M and a few department stores. This season I love some of the prints on the catwalk have translated from the clothing onto the swimwear. From the staple palm and tropical prints, inverted colour matching coordinated prints and realistic florals. This makes for super eye-catching swimwear so much so, you'd be planning/dreaming of a year long summer holiday like me.

Call Me Mine

A few of you may have seen me post these amazing floral trousers on my Instagram - @deepalipatel - a week or so ago, I got them from the East End Thrift Store in East London. They do these unbelievably amazing £1 jumble sales - yes everything is £1!!! As you can imagine they can be quite hit and miss, but with a little patience, a good eye and some mental outfit building you can find some real gems. I've been to about 2 so far and I've got some pretty amazing bits, these floral trousers and this coat being top on the list.

I adore the print on the trousers and they are super high waisted, which means they hide the bits I don't like so much (bonus points for that). As the print on the trousers is quite bold I opted for all black pieces to accompany them. This gorgeous wool coat was another piece I found at the Jumble Sale. I've been after a long black boyfriend coat for a while and saw this at the Jumble Sale and couldn't believe my eyes. I obviously had to give it a pretty vigorous dry clean and steam, but even before then it was in a amazing condition. I love the little button details on the tail and the gorgeous silk lining.

Even for general vintage shopping I'd recommend The East End Thrift Store, if you're ever in that side of London definitely go! x

Call Me Darling

A couple of weeks back I was off work battling an awful cold. I'm one of those people who can't sit still for very long, so being at home for 3 days I was going pretty insane; I mean how many episodes of Criminal Minds can I actually watch in one day?! I decided to spend my time a bit more creatively and spent a lovely amount of time on my sewing machine.

I have a ridiculous amount of fabric at home and I found this amazing two-tone fabric and knew I had to do something with it. I've been in love with Midi Skirts (obsessed is probably more appropriate) and decided this would be my little project. I opted for a double layer full skirt with pleat detail around the waist band to give the skirt some movement.
(pinning my pleats in the pic above)

When I finally was able to wear the skirt I thought monochromatic florals would add a bit of interest contrasted with little hits of gold hardware on my studded clutch, shoes and belt. x

Call Me Guilty

A little outfit post just before going to my cousins birthday party last weekend. It was so hard trying to find something to wear and  it was the end of a long shopping trip when I saw this exquisitely bright pink floral printed skirt from Topshop, it completely stole my heart and I knew I had to get it for the party. Not only is the print gorgeous, the skirt is structured amazingly and the fabric has beautiful quilted detail. I decided to keep the top basic with a plain black cami and for shoes, I picked out the grey hues in the florals and decided on these amazing stone grey strappy sandals from New Look for a steal at £19.99! (New Look's footwear are absolutely killing it this season) As I kept the feminine feel flowing with a lace clutch I added a tough looking leather jacket, a long black formal coat did work with the outfit but I'm a sucker for leather and studs.

The skirt itself is quite a statement piece and is quite formal in structure and shape and so it's perfect for events. I do think it's quite versatile so I can't wait to style it for a day friendly look! x

Call Me Second

Just a quick post, mainly just to say I am still ridiculously in love with my candy pink jacket. So so in love, yet I probably look like a marshmallow. Oh well! I carried on with the pink hues focusing on this beautiful floral skirt from Oasis. They're repeating the floral print in a blue background in a skirt, trousers, blazer and top in the next few weeks, I may have to snap them all up! Hope everyone is having a marvellous week. x

Call Me Cruel

So with Winter in full swing in London it is a tad bit depressing. Good thing that pastels are super cool (pun intended) for the season, with candy pink being my absolute favourite go-to colour. I've kept the upper part of the outfit tonal hitting baby pinks in all different shades, and for the rest it seems I'm channelling my inner Cruella De Vil with the Dalmatian print skirt and the lion heads on my shoes. The black accents; particularly the shoes and Alexander Wang clutch an edge to the ensemble without losing any of the femininity.
